• There are two ways that students may register at the Dr. ML Garza Gonzalez Charter School.
  • The first way is to register during the annual registration process which occurs approximately 30 days prior to school starting that year.
  • The other way is on a first come, first serve basis. During the year, we may enroll students if space is available or becomes available. Students are admitted on a space available basis.

• Calling for an appointment is preferred because it gives us an opportunity to be ready to fully attend to your needs and to assure that you get our undivided attention. We do accept some walk-ins on a case by case basis (such as court-orders).

What do I need to bring to register?

• Shot records (Immunizations) Students must have the required innoculations to register.
• Child's Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Any and all school records (Withdrawal records, TAKS scores, report cards, etc.)
• Food Stamp verification letter or case number/TANF case number
• Income verification
• Parent /Guardian ID (2 Forms)
• If not the parent, you must bring proof of guardianship

I just moved from out of town and I have not registered in a local district, may I still attend GCCLR?

• Yes, call for an appointment and provide the name and number of your last school so that we may obtain your transfer documents.

I am 17 years old and am registering for the GED program, do I need to bring my parent/guardian?

• Yes, you must have a parent or legal guardian register you. Only students 18 years or older may register themselves.

My child turns 3 on September 4, may he register for the PreKindergarten program?

• Unfortunately, No! Only students that have reached the required age by September 1st of each year may register for the PreKindergarten and Kindergarten programs.

May I pick up the paperwork, fill it out at home and bring it back?

• No, paperwork must be filled out at the GCCLR office to make copies and verify records and legal documents.
